Welcome to the Wintertree Software Virtual Convention Booth!
Here you can buy the same things, at the same prices, that you could at our physical booth. This includes everything from TableMaster itself to T-shirts and dice necklaces which usually aren't sold online.
Note that this sales page will only be available during the convention, just as if it was a physical booth. At the end of FnordCon, it will go away again.
This is a whole section of free goodies of all sorts. Most of these items are available for free download on DriveThroughRPG. Links go to their download pages. The others are free downloads from the Wintertree website.
This is the demo version of TableMaster. It is very much limited, but suitable to run limited subsets of tables. It can be freely distributed.
If you have TableMaster but not all of the Table Packs, and you want to see what the other Table Packs are like, this is what you need. It has "stub" tables for every table in the first six Table Packs. They display pregenerated output from the real tables. Works with TableMaster 1.4 and later.
This is a set of TableMaster tables, mostly from Murphy's Rules and the Munchkin RPG, avaialable only at FnordCon. It is included with all types of physical and digital versions of TableMaster purchased from this page (and the demo), so you only need this if you have TableMaster already. If you're getting things that are not TableMaster and want it on your FlashBox, let us know in the checkout comments or in Discord.
This is an Alberti cipher disc you can print out and assemble. These discs were used to manually encrypt and decrypt messages with the Vigenere cipher, once believed to be unbreakable (it isn't).
This is a sampler of 10 each of the first five 1001 Things files. It contains 10 Awkward Art Objects, Perplexing Potions, Hopeful Hirelings, Perilous Places, and the Battered Books that are only available in the 5005 Things bundle #1.
This is a sampler of 10 each of the second five 1001 Things files. It contains 10 each of Interesting Islands, Arcane Altars, Flowing Fountains, Fantastic Fungi, and the Dangerous Doors that are only available in the 5005 Things bundle #2.
This is a sampler of 10 each of the third five 1001 Things files. It contains 10 each of Mystical Magi Item Names, Special Stones, Curious Coins, Awesome Adventure Names, and the Slithering Slimes that are only available in the 5005 Things bundle #4.
This is a sampler of 10 each of the fourth five 1001 Things files. It contains 10 each of Instant Inns, Strange Swords, Typical Townsfolk, Helpful Herbs, and the Sorcerous Scrolls that are only available in the 5005 Things bundle #4.
In each of the 1001 Things files is a brief little story, usually involving the gamemaster being able to describe something in detail, or outwit the players, because the GM has bought the relevant 1001 Things pack. These little vignettes are surprisingly popular, so they have been assembled into a single file for the convenience of people who do not want to have to read each of them on its own page.
Cowboy, one of the Wintertree cipher fonts, is available as a free download. It is based on 19th-century Old West cattle brands, and the documentation explains the "heraldry" of brand designs and the owners of these brands.
I accumulate dice. A lot of dice. One day, a recently-acquired die, a d12 with pips (dots) instead of numbers, happened to be on my desk. So of course I made a font of it.
Crowley, one of the Wintertree esoteric fonts, is available as a free download. It is based on the "Alphabet of Daggers" created by Aleister Crowley.
The back of my business card has a small dungeon map and the URL for a set of tables (usable with the TableMaster demo version) that can be used to populate it. This is a version of that dungeon set up for use with humans and dice instead. Download it, print it out, and roll up instant contents for the dungeon!
The back of my business card has a small dungeon map and the URL for a set of tables that can be used to populate it. This is that link. This works with the TableMaster demo as well as the full version. It will give you an idea of some of what TableMaster can do.
This is a set of ready-made pages with runic borders on several different types of backgrounds. You can print them out and write on them, or use them as backgrounds in other programs.
This is a set of ready-made pages with Egyptian hieroglyphic borders on several different types of backgrounds. You can print them out and write on them, or use them as backgrounds in other programs.
Three sizes and four styles of hex paper, ready to print. Made with Wintertree's EasyHex font, as an example of what it's capable of.
The FlashBox is an experimental new idea for Wintertree, intended to replace the stack of CDs in jewel cases that customers buy at conventions and then have to put someplace. It is a 4GB USB flash drive, with a retractable connector, which comes loaded with whatever Wintertree products you purchase. So, if you buy a FlashBox, you can then order the digital, rather than physical, versions of TableMaster, the Table Packs, CRYPTER, fonts, etc., and they will all be loaded on the FlashBox and sent out to you. In addition, your FlashBox will come with all the freebies listed below. Shipping: There is no additional charge to ship a FlashBox during the convention.
Please note that FlashBox pricing on items is assuming the purchase of a FlashBox! That's the price to get something added to the FlashBox you bought. (I'm actually selling FlashBoxes below cost) But — since we got a whole carton of them just before conventions were all canceled — I'll include a FREE FlashBox with any $100 purchase!
The basic TableMaster package includes a TBL reference manual (on dead trees in the physical version), complete tutorial (PDF), and 60+ tables to get you started. The physical version comes on a CD in a DVD-type case. The digital version is delivered by email. (Windows)
This is TableMaster with the works! In addition to everything you get with the basic edition, the Deluxe version also includes every table from all three Fantasy Table Packs, the SF Table Pack, the Apocalypse Table Pack, the Zombie Table Pack, and the new Adventure Table Pack (a grand total of over 250 tables). The physical version comes on a CD in a DVD-type case. The digital version is delivered by email. (Windows)
Fantasy Table Pack 1 contains inns, city encounters, pursuit obstacles, castle descriptions, and many other wilderness and urban-themed tables. The physical version comes on a CD in a jewel case. The digital version is delivered by email.
Fantasy Table Pack 2 contains caverns, gems and jewelry, dungeon details, mysterious pools, tomb dungeons, and many other underground and treasure tables. The physical version comes on a CD in a jewel case.
Fantasy Table Pack 3 contains names of all sorts, competitors at tournaments, character backgrounds, descriptions of people, and many other character-related and name tables. The physical version comes on a CD in a jewel case.
This is simply a combination of the contents of all three of the Fantasy Table Packs. All three Fantasy Table Packs for the price of two!
The Science Fiction Table Pack contains mysterious artifacts, star systems, rumors, newspaper headlines, patrons' requests, and other far-future and space-traveling tables. The physical version comes on a CD in a jewel case.
The Apocalypse Table Pack contains descriptions of caches, bandit gangs, old artifacts, ruined towns, strange mutants, and many other tables to describe and detail a post-holocaust world. The physical version comes on a CD in a jewel case.
The Zombie Table Pack contains tables to generate descriptions of people, isolated houses, vehicle failures, communities of survivors, and many more tables for zombie-themed campaigns. The physical version comes on a CD in a jewel case.
Whether it is looking for lost cities in the African jungles or fighting crime in American cities, this package has tables for all your pulp adventures. The tables are themed around early 20th century pulp stories.
Wintertree Software does actually produce software, though sometimes it doesn't feel like it. Both of these programs are for Windows (XP and later) only, but Mac versions may be coming soon.
CRYPTER is a cryptographic assistant program. It can encrypt and decrypt with letter-shift (Caesar), Vigenere, and substitution ciphers, including the famed secret ciphers of Captain Midnight fame. It can also break the results into groups of arbitrary length, change case, and even set words up to work correctly with ciphers such as the Dancing Men that mark the end, rather than the beginning, of words. Includes a Pigpen font and printable worksheets to set up a substitution chart for any version of Pigpen. (Windows)
TextJiggler changes the capitalization of text. It can either do this randomly with various parameters controlling the randomness, regularly, or using the correct styles for Medu and Glyphic. This is a free download from DriveThruRPG. (Windows)
The Wintertree fonts range from ancient alphabets (including Egyptian hieroglyphs) to utility fonts for gamers, such as one to make do-it-yourself hex paper. The "Notes" button with each will list the fonts in that package, and many (though by no means all; there are a lot of fonts here!) can be viewed on DriveThruRPG as well. The fonts are in OTF format so they can be used with Windows, MacOS, or Linux.
Arcane Alphabets contains fonts for many historic and esoteric alphabets. It includes things ranging from Ugaritic cuneiform to the Elder Futhark runes, from the Enochian of Dr. John Dee to the Celestial of would-be mages, and much more. The documentation describes the historical background for many of the fonts.
Gamers' Glyphs contains useful fonts for gamers, ranging from EasyHex for making do-it-yourself hex paper in practically any form to Royal Proclamation for creating multi-colored illuminated capitals. It also has DarkCity, for fantasy, steampunk, and historical city skylines. It includes complete illustrated manuals (PDF) for using DarkCity and Royal Proclamation, plus examples.
Many ciphers have been a part of history or literature, and they can be found in Cryptic Ciphers. They range from the ubiquitous Pigpen cipher well-known to children to the one that cost Mary, Queen of Scots, her head, from the Dancing Men of Sherlock Holmes fame to the alleged secret writing of the Knights Templar.
The world is full of all sorts of special communication systems which are neither readily readable nor secret. Braille is one such, and Morse Code another. This also includes multiple semaphore systems, light signaling systems, several different versions of Morse, and more.
Write with dice! PolyDice has the complete alphabet in six different styles for all seven common shapes of polyhedral dice, plus a mixed one for assorted dice in a line. There are also additional files for some for numbers beyond 9, such as for the d12 and d20 dice. The best part is that it also has overlay characters, so you can do different colors of numbers, borders, and faces, and even shading for a 3D look!
This package is all about ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs. It is the only hieroglyphic font package intended for gamers rather than scholars while still maintaining authenticity. It contains only three basic fonts, but they come in multiple versions each. Medu is a genuine hieroglyphic font, using the alphabetic symbols of hieroglyphs corresponding as closely as possible to the phonemes of English. Glyphic does what the ancient Egyptians did to derive the alphabetic meanings of those hieroglyphs, using Egyptian characters to represent English letters based on the initial letters of their English names. Hieroclipic is a collection of "dingbats" based on the characters of Medu and Glyphic plus a few additional iconic Egyptian images. These are in left- and right-facing forms, both solid and in an outline version that looks like it is carved in stone.
Not only can you surround a name with a cartouche simply by setting the text in italics, and add a determinative with bold, but you can also stack short characters, as was done in ancient Egypt! The program TextJiggler (Windows) can set up proper stacking for both Medu and Glyphic. TextJiggler is included in this package. The Hieroglyphica documentation, in addition to character charts for all of the fonts, includes an introduction to how hieroglyphs worked and how to use them yourself.
Have an endless supply of hex paper in whatever size you want, and dozens of different styles! Also includes hundreds of ready-to-print hex pages in both letter and A4 format. (plus a few in larger battlemat-ready page sizes)
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is included in the Gamers' Glyphs font package; it is listed separately here for those people who only want the EasyHex fonts and want to include it on a FlashBox rather than getting it through DriveThruRPG.
Exactly what it sounds like: A complete collection of all the other font packs. Every one of the Wintertree fonts!
This is a kit for creating illuminated pages, proclamations, certificiates, and more. It includes the fonts Royal Proclamation for the illuminated initials and Albrecht for text (both also found in Gamers' Glyphs) plus faux parchment and aged-look paper to print them on, plus instructions, including illustrated instructions for using Royal Proclamation.
This is, naturally, a physical thing which must be shipped. Paper is 8.5" x 11"
Write your own hieroglyphic texts! This includes the Hieroglyphica font pack, a dozen papyrus-print pages, and two sheets of genuine papyrus, plus instructions. Note that Wintertree does not guarantee good results with printing on papyrus. It can be done — inkjet printer only — but your results may vary wildly.
This is, naturally, a physical thing which must be shipped. Paper is 8.5" x 11"
Note that the Wearables, Other Items, and Swag below are all physical things which must be shipped. Sadly, technology has not as yet reached the point where we can email T-shirts or dice.
This is an assortment of things you can wear, or in the case of the keychains, put in your pocket.
Show the world you're a gamer and have an emergency d20 on hand with a spiral "cage" type necklace with a removable d20 in it. Due to the complexities of online sales, we can't guarantee a color. You can ask in Discord if a certain color is avaiable, but in the end, you have to let us pick one.
Like the d20 necklaces and earrings, these are keychains keeping a d20 ready at hand. Again, while we can try to select what you want if it is available, in the end you get a random color.
This is a royal blue T-shirt with the Wintertree bare tree design on it in white. These are sturdy fabric, the same as the shirts we wear at conventions.
Wintertree's booth at physical conventions usually has items other than software, fonts, and their relatives for sale. This has at times even included entire netbook computers!) The following are some of them.
When the power fails or the laptop battery runs out, be ready with the TableMaster Power Failure Emergency Kit! It contains a pair of pearlized 6-sided dice with engraved Wintertree and TableMaster logos, and eight printed tables that are usable with dice or TableMaster.
When the power fails or the laptop battery runs out, be even more prepared with the TableMaster Deluxe Power Failure Emergency Kit! Packed in a mint tin for easy storage and transport, with extra space you can use for more dice, it contains a pair of pearlized 6-sided dice with engraved Wintertree and TableMaster logos, eight printed tables that are usable with dice or TableMaster, and a very bright flexy light (as seen below), with magnetic base, so you can read them when the lights are out.
These are super-cool little mini light sword flashlights. They're six inches long, plus the attached keychain. The "blade" has a frosted insert so that it glows along its entire length. They come in your choice of red, blue, or green light.
Note that unlike the Flexy Flashlights, the batteries are not intended to be replaceable.
A small version of the big "plugdie" — a physical version of the TableMaster logo — seen at the Wintertree booth at conventions. The d6 light cycles through color changes, and has a faux cord and plug (paracord and a bead) so it looks like the TableMaster plugdie logo.
There are two packages of life counters, one in a heart-shaped box and the other in a rectangular plastic box. The contents of both are the same, as shown here. We also have a couple of boxes and a heart containing the opposite colors — 20 pink and 5 red hearts — please ask about these on Discord.
A package of 25 small red and pink hearts suitable for using as health, hit point, strength, or life counters (as appropriate to your game system). Package includes 20 red and 5 pink plastic heart counters, suggested values for games with different life totals, and a storage bag, packed inside a transparent red plastic heart.

Package includes 20 red and 5 pink plastic heart counters, suggested values for games with different life totals, and a storage bag, packed inside an UltraPro 50-card deck box.
The velvet bag that so many of us started with. The small one holds an enormous number of die, and the large one holds an absolutely insane number. Or there's plenty of space for one of Wintertree's heart-shaped life counter packs and your favorite miniature or two.
This is a small dice bag in a velvety red fabric, and for FnordCon only, it comes with a pair of special Wintertree custom dice! (one blue with a white tree, one pearl white with a plugdie logo) It is not the world's sturdiest dice bag — for stronger ones, visit Warehouse 23 — but it is nice-looking and suitable for light use or giving gifts of dice.
This is the section for all sorts of Wintertree and TableMaster imprinted items. I can't type "show your Wintertree pride" with a straight face; I'll leave that for much bigger companies. These are good items, and what you could buy (or get with a big purchase — if you buy $100 or more during this convention, we'll include a free Swag Bag pack) — at a physical convention.
This is a nice plastic magnet with the TableMaster box cover art by Rick Hershey.
A blue-and-white pen with the TableMaster name, featuring a flashlight in the end! Great for when your dice roll off the table and under the furniture. Note that this is included in the Swag Assortment package; this is just if you want a few extra ones.
This includes a small TableMaster magnet, flashlight pen, stick pen, keychain, two stickers, and possibly other things such as a button, bookmark, etc., if they happen to be available at the time. FnordCon Special: Also contains a pair of custom Wintertree dice!
